X10
Performance and Productivity at Scale
X10 is a class-based, strongly-typed, garbage-collected, object-oriented language. To support concurrency and distribution, X10 uses the Asynchronous Partitioned Global Address Space programming model (APGAS). This model introduces two key concepts -- places and asynchronous tasks -- and a few mechanisms for coordination. With these, APGAS can express both regular and irregular parallelism, message-passing-style and active-message-style computations, fork-join and bulk-synchronous parallelism. Both its modern, type-safe sequential core and simple programming model for concurrency and distribution contribute to making X10 a high-productivity language in the HPC and Big Data spaces. User productivity is further enhanced by providing tools such as an Eclipse-based IDE (X10DT). Implementations of X10 are available for a wide variety of hardware and software platforms ranging from laptops, to commodity clusters, to supercomputers. -

JPHP - an implementation of PHP on Java VM
JPPM is a packager manager for JPHP like npm or composer. JPPM will help you to build and run jphp applications or write new packages. JPHP is a new implementation for PHP which uses the Java VM. It supports many features of the PHP language (7.1+). How does it work? JPHP is a compiler like javac, it compiles PHP sources to JVM bytecode and then can execute the result on the Java VM. We develop a new IDE for beginners like Game Maker or Scirra Construct. It's based on JPHP, JavaFX, Java 8, and Gradle, and allows to creation of desktop games and apps for Linux, Windows, and Mac (maybe Android and other platforms in the future). JPHP is not a replacement for the Zend PHP engine or Facebook HHVM. We don’t plan to implement the zend runtime libraries (e.g. Curl, PRCE, etc.) for JPHP. PHP 7.1+ (and many language features from PHP 7.2, 7.3, 7.4). JIT (~2.5x faster PHP 5.6, ~1.1x faster PHP 7.0, ~13% slower than PHP 7.4, bench). Using java libraries and classes in PHP code. -

Tool to transcribe Parsing Expression Grammar into a parser written in Java. Parsing Expression Grammar (PEG) is a way to specify recursive-descent parsers with limited backtracking. The use of backtracking lifts the LL(1) restriction usually imposed by top-down parsers. In addition, PEG can define parsers with integrated lexing. Unlike some existing parser generators for PEG, the tool does not produce a complex and storage-hungry "packrat parser", but a collection of transparent recursive procedures. The tool can handle left recursion. An integral feature of "Mouse" is the mechanism for specifying semantics (also in Java). This makes "Mouse" a convenient tool if one needs an ad-hoc language processor. Being written in Java, the processor is operating-system independent. Included in the package is PEG Explorer, an interactive tool to investigate the effect of limited backtracking. Sample grammars for Java & C are available from the Web Site. -
