...Może nie jest w stanie generować sygnałów o bardzo dużej częstotliwości, ale jej zakres (20Hz – 20kHz) może się okazać przydatny, nie tylko przy testowaniu układów audio, ale też przy układach mikroprocesorowych. W ostatnim czasie pojawiła się u mnie taka potrzeba, więc napisałem prosty program, który pozwala w łatwy sposób wygenerować sygnał na wyjściu z karty dźwiękowej komputera. Umożliwia on regulacje częstotliwości w całym zakresie karty dźwiękowej, czyli od 20Hz do 20kHz. Można także regulować amplitudę, oraz wybrać rodzaj generowanego sygnału. Może to być sinus, piła, trójkąt lub prostokąt. Zaletą programu jest możliwość pracy na różnych platformach systemowych (Linux, Mac, Windows).

During the period from 1990 through 2002, EPRI funded the development of a Lightning Protection Design Workstation (LPDW), which was used by many utilities to assess the lightning performance of distribution lines. Since about 2002, this program has not been available. EPRI decided to release the simulation kernel of LPDW under an open-source license (GPL v3), so it may be incorporated into IEEE Flash and other projects. OpenETran can presently simulate multi-conductor power lines, insulators, surge arresters, non-linear grounds, and lightning strokes.
