MoviePy
Video editing with Python
MoviePy is a Python module for video editing, which can be used for basic operations (like cuts, concatenations, title insertions), video compositing (a.k.a. non-linear editing), video processing, or to create advanced effects. It can read and write the most common video formats, including GIF. MoviePy is an open source software originally written by Zulko and released under the MIT licence. It works on Windows, Mac, and Linux, with Python 2 or Python 3. The code is hosted on Github, where you can push improvements, report bugs and ask for help. There is also a MoviePy forum on Reddit and a mailing list on librelist. MoviePy depends on the Python modules NumPy, Imageio, Decorator, and Proglog, which will be automatically installed during MoviePy's installation. The software FFMPEG should be automatically downloaded/installed (by imageio) during your first use of MoviePy (installation will take a few seconds). -

A community-maintained Python library for creating mathematical animations. Manim is a free and open-source project originally written by Grant Sanderson. It is now maintained by the Manim Community and permissively released under the MIT license. Manim was originally created by Grant Sanderson as a personal project and for use in his YouTube channel, 3Blue1Brown. As his channel gained popularity, many grew to like the style of his animations and wanted to use manim for their own projects. However, as manim was only intended for personal use, it was very difficult for other users to install and use it. Manim, or ManimCE refers to the community-maintained version of the library. This is the version documented on this website; the package name on PyPI is manim. ManimGL is the latest released version of the library developed by Grant “3b1b” Sanderson. It has more experimental features and breaking changes between versions are not documented. -

Implementation of DALL-E 2, OpenAI's updated text-to-image synthesis neural network, in Pytorch. The main novelty seems to be an extra layer of indirection with the prior network (whether it is an autoregressive transformer or a diffusion network), which predicts an image embedding based on the text embedding from CLIP. Specifically, this repository will only build out the diffusion prior network, as it is the best performing variant (but which incidentally involves a causal transformer as the denoising network) To train DALLE-2 is a 3 step process, with the training of CLIP being the most important. To train CLIP, you can either use x-clip package, or join the LAION discord, where a lot of replication efforts are already underway. Then, you will need to train the decoder, which learns to generate images based on the image embedding coming from the trained CLIP. -

Crunch is a tool for lossy PNG image file optimization. It combines selective bit depth, color type, and color palette reduction with zopfli DEFLATE compression algorithm encoding using the pngquant and zopflipng PNG optimization tools. This approach leads to a significant file size gain relative to lossless approaches at the expense of a relatively modest decrease in image quality. Continuous benchmark testing is available in our GitHub Actions CI. Emoji for Python. This project was inspired by kyokomi. The entire set of Emoji codes as defined by the Unicode consortium is supported in addition to a bunch of aliases. By default, only the official list is enabled but doing emoji.emojize(language='alias') enables both the full list and aliases. By default, the language is English (language='en') but also supported languages are Spanish ('es'), Portuguese ('pt'), Italian ('it'), French ('fr'), German ('de'). The utils/get-codes-from-unicode-consortium.py may help when updating unicode_codes.py but is not guaranteed to work. Generally speaking it scrapes a table on the Unicode Consortium's website with BeautifulSoup and prints the contents to stdout in a more useful format. -

ML Sharp is a research code release that turns a single 2D photograph into a photorealistic 3D representation that can be rendered from nearby viewpoints. Instead of requiring multi-view input, it predicts the parameters of a 3D Gaussian scene representation directly from one image using a single forward pass through a neural network. The core idea is speed: the 3D representation is produced in under a second on a standard GPU, and then the resulting scene can be rendered in real time to generate new views interactively.
