    Car Number Plate Recognition
This program takes snapshot of car license number plate and then recognize the text on it. It is based on the very elementary technique of templates matching. The algorithm takes an input image of the number plate (number plate should be dominant in the image) and after filtering the image, it performs region based operations. Then it tries to capture the characters regions in a processed binary image and with the aid of template matching outputs the string of number plate characters.

This package includes a collection of MATLAB files which are designed to: 1. Given a calibration scan of the image of a point emitter with an engineered point spread function (PSF), 2. Perform a phase retrieval algorithm based on maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) of a phase aberration term which is added to the theoretical pupil function of the imaging system. 3. Use the phase-retrieved pupil function to perform single-emitter localization.

    TrackingExample

This project presents simple marker detection and 3D augmentation

This is a project demonstrating tracking of a marker consisting of 6 blobs placed on a black palette and drawing a virtual house on it. Detection of the marker and augmentation (drawing of the house) are done in real time. Image from almost any internet camera can be used. The program is using incremental tracking, in which the position of the marker in the previous frame is used to improve the detection. The homography calculation needed for the augmentation can be performed using 4 different methods: -Direct Linear Transform, -basic OpenCV algorithm -OpenCV RANSAC based algorithm -OpenCV Least-Median based algorithm. ...

    Ncrypt

Text and image encryption and decryption software

This software provides a mean for users to encrypt and decrypt data in the form of text and images. The program follows a basic encryption algorithm that relies on mathematical properties of matrices, such as row operations, matrix multiplication, and invertible matrices . This program works by allowing the user to input a key in the form of a matrix, on which the program bases the encryption. The program then performs the encryption. The software only works in the scope of text files with a maximum of 150 characters, and image files with a maximum size of 128 x 128.

    CRFasRNN

    CRFasRNN

Semantic image segmentation method described in the ICCV 2015 paper

CRF-RNN is a deep neural architecture that integrates fully connected Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) by reformulating mean-field CRF inference as a Recurrent Neural Network. This fusion enables end-to-end training via backpropagation for semantic image segmentation tasks, eliminating the need for separate, offline post-processing steps. Our work allows computers to recognize objects in images, what is distinctive about our work is that we also recover the 2D outline of objects. Currently we have trained this model to recognize 20 classes. This software allows you to test our algorithm on your own images – have a try and see if you can fool it, if you get some good examples you can send them to us. ...

This paper represent a development and deployment and/or Implementation of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to translate images of typewritten or handwritten characters into electronically editable format by preserving font properties. OCR can do this by applying pattern matching algorithm. The Recognized characters are stored in editable format. Thus OCR make the computer read the printed documents discarding noise. Keywords- Optical Character Recognition, Image convert to character, Image cropping.

    Plant Senescence Analysis

Accurate analysis of plant senescence by colour distortion corr

The analysis of leaf senescence is an important part for plant phenotyping, particularly under stresses. However, manual inspection is time consuming and its evaluation is subjective. Therefore objective valuation of plant senescence by color image analysis is desirable for high throughput plant phenotyping. The plant colors in images may not represent the original colors of plants due to imperfect camera lenses and camera settings. In this case, color analysis for the senescence estimation may result in significant error. In this method, we propose a novel algorithm to have the effects of both the color distortion correction and the deblurring for senescence analysis.

 Object detection is usually a software-based monitoring algorithm that will signal, for example in the surveillance camera to begin capturing the event when it detects motion. In object tracking, the object is located and the moving object is followed. One of the fundamental steps in many computer based vision systems for object tracking and motion detection is real-time segmentation of moving regions in the image sequences.

    Facial Expression Recognition

Facial Expression Recognition System - Matlab source code

We propose an algorithm for facial expression recognition which can classify the given image into one of the seven basic facial expression categories (happiness, sadness, fear, surprise, anger, disgust and neutral). PCA is used for dimensionality reduction in input data while retaining those characteristics of the data set that contribute most to its variance, by keeping lower-order principal components and ignoring higher-order ones.

    Automatic 3D Coordinate Points Generator

The project aims at generating 3D coordinates from a set of 2D images

...The entire project is based on the principles of Photogrammetry. The subject of interest is embedded with patterns of retro-reflective dots. The reason that these dots were attached is that they appear very bright in the image if it is captured using flash. An auto-bar is used to define the coordinate system reference. The algorithm which performs this transformation is broken down to several steps. First step is converting the images to grayscale. Then detecting the retro-reflective dots by the “Polygon” approach. Same dots in different images were matched by Pattern Matching algorithm. ...

...Usually in an SMC framework there is a natural ordering of the states of the samples. The order typically depends on observations about the states or on the annealing setup used. In many applications (e.g., image jigsaw puzzle problems), all observations (e.g., puzzle pieces) are given at once and it is hard to define a natural ordering. Therefore, we relax the assumption of having ordered observations about states and propose a novel SMC algorithm for obtaining maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimate of a high-dimensional posterior distribution.

    Octree Method For Particles

simulation of particles using an oct-tree

...the low-level "octets" can be distributed among a cluster of computers, organized in a grid. they don't have to send each other their whole dataset - only a zoomed out image of it. the further away, the more zoomed out. thus, i/o traffic is greatly reduced. combine this with the fact that it's an O(N) algorithm, and what you get is an accurate particle-based physics simulator whose simulation speed scales with the number of particles per compute unit even for VERY large particle counts and VERY large computing arrays. ...

    PanGP

PanGP is a tool for quickly analyzing bacterial pan-genome profile.

PanGP is a tool for quickly analyzing bacterial pan-genome profile. It has integrated two kinds of sample algorithm, so that it could calculate the pan-genome profile of a population with dozens of or hundreds of strains at extremely low time-cost. At the same time, a user-friendly graphical interface was designed and the image about pan-genome profile could be drawn by PanGP directly.

    HIPAcc

    HIPAcc

Heterogeneous Image Processing Acceleration (HIPACC) Framework

HIPAcc development has moved to github: https://github.com/hipacc HIPAcc allows to design image processing kernels and algorithms in a domain-specific language (DSL). From this high-level description, low-level target code for GPU accelerators is generated using source-to-source translation. As back ends, the framework supports CUDA, OpenCL, and Renderscript. HIPAcc allows programmers to develop imaging applications while providing high productivity, flexibility and portability as well as competitive performance: the same algorithm description serves as basis for targeting different GPU accelerators and low-level languages.
