A generic, simple and fast implementation of Deepmind's AlphaZero
Beyond its much publicized success in attaining superhuman level at games such as Chess and Go, DeepMind's AlphaZero algorithm illustrates a more general methodology of combining learning and search to explore large combinatorial spaces effectively. We believe that this methodology can have exciting applications in many different research areas. Because AlphaZero is resource-hungry, successful open-source implementations (such as Leela Zero) are written in low-level languages (such as C++) and optimized for highly distributed computing environments. This makes them hardly accessible for students, researchers and hackers. Many simple Python implementations can be found on Github, but none of them is able to beat a reasonable baseline on games such as Othello or Connect Four. As an illustration, the benchmark in the README of the most popular of them only features a random baseline, along with a greedy baseline that does not appear to be significantly stronger. -

The first half of the book introduces readers to machine learning using scikit-learn, the defacto approach for working with tabular datasets. NanoDet is a FCOS-style one-stage anchor-free object detection model which using Generalized Focal Loss as classification and regression loss. In NanoDet-Plus, we propose a novel label assignment strategy with a simple assign guidance module (AGM) and a dynamic soft label assigner (DSLA) to solve the optimal label assignment problem in lightweight model training. We also introduce a light feature pyramid called Ghost-PAN to enhance multi-layer feature fusion. These improvements boost previous NanoDet's detection accuracy by 7 mAP on COCO dataset. NanoDet provide multi-backend C++ demo including ncnn, OpenVINO and MNN. There is also an Android demo based on ncnn library. Supports various backends including ncnn, MNN and OpenVINO. YOLOX is a high-performance anchor-free YOLO, exceeding yolov3~v5 with MegEngine, ONNX, TensorRT, ncnn, and OpenVINO supported. YOLOX is an anchor-free version of YOLO, with a simpler design but better performance! It aims to bridge the gap between research and industrial communities. Prepare your own dataset with images and labels first. For labeling images, you can use tools like Labelme or CVAT. One more thing worth noting is that you should also implement pull_item and load_anno method for the Mosiac and MixUp augmentations. Except special cases, we always recommend using our COCO pre-trained weights for initializing the model. As YOLOX is an anchor-free detector with only several hyper-parameters, most of the time good results can be obtained with no changes to the models or training settings. -

Written by three experts in the field, Deep Learning is the only comprehensive book on the subject. This is not available as PDF download. So, I have taken the prints of the HTML content and bound them into a flawless PDF version of the book, as suggested by the website itself. Printing seems to work best printing directly from the browser, using Chrome. Other browsers do not work as well. -

Rasa is an open source machine learning framework to automate text-and voice-based conversations. With Rasa, you can build contextual assistants on Facebook Messenger, Slack, Google Hangouts, Webex Teams, Microsoft Bot Framework, Rocket.Chat, Mattermost, Telegram, and Twilio or on your own custom conversational channels. Rasa helps you build contextual assistants capable of having layered conversations with lots of back-and-forths. In order for a human to have a meaningful exchange with a contextual assistant, the assistant needs to be able to use context to build on things that were previously discussed. Rasa enables you to build assistants that can do this in a scalable way. Rasa uses Poetry for packaging and dependency management. If you want to build it from the source, you have to install Poetry first. By default, Poetry will try to use the currently activated Python version to create the virtual environment for the current project automatically. -

Originally developed by Google for internal use, TensorFlow is an open source platform for machine learning. The platform can be easily deployed on multiple CPUs, GPUs and Google's proprietary chip, the tensor processing unit (TPU). TensorFlow expresses its computations as dataflow graphs, with each node in the graph representing an operation. Nodes take tensors—multidimensional arrays—as input and produce tensors as output. The framework allows for these algorithms to be run in C++ for better performance, while the multiple levels of APIs let the user determine how high or low they wish the level of abstraction to be in the models produced. Tensorflow can also be used for research and production with TensorFlow Extended. -

This repository introduces GIMP3-ML, a set of Python plugins for the widely popular GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP). It enables the use of recent advances in computer vision to the conventional image editing pipeline. Applications from deep learning such as monocular depth estimation, semantic segmentation, mask generative adversarial networks, image super-resolution, de-noising and coloring have been incorporated with GIMP through Python-based plugins. Materials Discovery: GNoME
AI discovers 520000 stable inorganic crystal structures for research
Materials Discovery (GNoME) is a large-scale research initiative by Google DeepMind focused on applying graph neural networks to accelerate the discovery of stable inorganic crystal materials. The project centers on Graph Networks for Materials Exploration (GNoME), a message-passing neural network architecture trained on density functional theory (DFT) data to predict material stability and energy formation. Using GNoME, DeepMind identified 381,000 new stable materials, later expanding the dataset to include over 520,000 materials within 1 meV/atom of the convex hull as of August 2024. The repository provides datasets, model definitions, and interactive Colabs for exploring these materials, computing decomposition energies, and visualizing chemical families. Additionally, it includes JAX-based implementations of GNoME and Nequip—the latter being used to train interatomic potentials for dynamic simulations. -

Visual Object Tagging Tool: An electron app for building end-to-end Object Detection Models from Images and Videos. An open source annotation and labeling tool for image and video assets. VoTT is a React + Redux Web application, written in TypeScript. This project was bootstrapped with Create React App. VoTT can be installed as a native application or run from source. VoTT is also available as a stand-alone Web application and can be used in any modern Web browser. VoTT is available for Windows, Linux and OSX. Download the appropriate platform package/installer from GitHub Releases. As noted above, the Web version of VoTT cannot access the local file system; all assets must be imported/exported through a Cloud project. VoTT V2 is a refactor and refresh of the original Electron-based application. As the usage and demand for VoTT grew, V2 was started as an initiative to improve and make VoTT more extensible and maintainable.
