AirMapView is a view abstraction that enables interactive maps for devices with and without Google Play Services. It is built to support multiple native map providers including Google Maps V2 and soon Amazon Maps V2. If a device does not have any supported native map provider, AirMapView will fallback to a web-based map provider (currently Google Maps). Easy to integrate, it is a drop-in replacement for the Google Maps V2 package. AirMapView's original author is Nick Adams. With AirMapView, to support native Google maps using the Google Maps v2 SDK you will still need to set up the Google Maps SDK as described here. Follow all the instructions except the one about adding a map since AirMapView takes care of that for you. See the sample app for more information about how to set up the maps SDK.

This app can be useful for you if you need to send your GPS location in an SMS to any recipient that is in your contact list (or a phone number that you can enter). The sent SMS contains a link to a Google Map with the position that you have sent. The app has been developed in french and english (US).

Android application which shows a moving map which is created from OpenStreetMap data. It is a fork of GpsMid. Please note that Androsm is under a major rewrite. The binary release doesn't have a native Android UI yet.

ArgooMap is an online, map-based discussion forum, which allows participants to reference their contributions to geographic locations. Different versions of ArguMap and ArgooMap/Argoomap were developed by students supervised by Dr. Claus Rinner at Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada) with partial funding from the GEOIDE Network of Centres of Excellence and DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service. The BioEnergy Allocation and Simulation Tool (BEAST) is a tool dedicated to assess political goals of woody bioenergy production in the context of available biomass potentials and corresponding economic and ecological criteria on a regional level. It is a useful tool in participative decision making processes by iterative simulation and visualization of complex issues. BEAST is a data- and model-driven Decision Support System (DSS) evaluating woody biomass potentials from forests, hedges and trees outside forests as well as short rotation coppice (SRC). The latter one is modelled spatially explicit. This opens the possibility to identify prefered areas for SRC production under different restrictions and goals. Forest wood and wood from outside forests are treated only aggregated.

BioSARN (Biological Species Approximate Realized Niche) refines environmental niche model output using topographic, soil and land class filtering, enhanced temporal corridor definition, niche area quantification and output to a high spatial resolution land class model. This is a Java™ Desktop MicroSoft Windows Application with a simple GUI. Preferably BioSARN should be used with 64-bit Java and a substantial RAM as the application reads input files into memory to minimize compute times.

BizGEO is an open source platform developed to provide a simple interface for geographical data collection and data storage. BizGEO is integrated with a standard open source map server (GeoServer) to form an integrated GIS data collection suite. BizGEO is made up of three main components; BizGEOServer which is a facility for managing data by organising them in projects; BizGEOApp, a mobile app which is being used by the field users to collect data through set of defined forms, and GeoServer which manages and publishes the data using open standards.
