It is based on elastic search - an efficient, powerful and highly scalable search platform. photon was started by komoot and provides search-as-you-type and multilingual support. !!! Project servers were closed in the beginning of 2012 because the project was not actual anymore (massivity using Android and iOS devices instead of "simple" mobile phones). But source codes are always available as usual !!!
