chaos is a new operating system - written from scratch by a young group of people. Unlike most other systems, we do not try to reimplement something else, but rather tries to do things in our own (hopefully better) way.

uSmartx is a non-preemptive, multitasking, priority based kernel for use in embedded designs. Its major features are task and time control over system resources, inter task communication and simple memory management.

A operating system designed to be compatable with the linux and uinx software, that is capable of running as a modern operating system.

An open source OS. It is 32-Bit and when possible 64 and 128-Bit. We are working on a complete rewrite. After which we will work on our UI. ATTENTION!: After AquariusOS 0.0.4 AquariusOS will be based off of aqua-next. 0.0.5 with an aqua-next base will hopefully be released BEFORE 2016.

CakeOS is a hobby operating system started by Lukem_95. It is written in C with some partial ASM coding. Cake is a modern OS with portable functions and drivers. We are looking to keep a fairly small team size for this project.

A Disk Scheduling Simulator tool. With an intuitive GUI interface and command line functionality. Built using both VC and VB. Currently supports SSTF,LOOK,CLOOK,SCAN and CSCAN algorithms. Rotational latency is also optionally supported.

'EOS' is a fully-featured preemptive real time kernel developed for the Infineon XC167 microcontroller. Performance summary: A typical context switch will take about 100[microsecond] at 40[MHz], when all tasks have a stack of 256 bytes.

This was originally an OSdev group, but since as members disbanded, I'm continuing to provide various implemenatitions of software, hardware, operating systems, libraries, and some stuff related to math and physics.

The FDOS Operaing System is 100% written in Assembler (NASM). It supports FAT 12, TSR and a small Multi Kernel System. The source is very good documentated (only in English). A German, russian and English Documentation (about 40 pages) are included.

Fortress OS is an open source modern multitasking operating system. Intel IA-32 386 compatibility. Fortress is clean implemented from scratch. Fortress is still in early stage ( current state at the end of plan 2 ) and needs huge work.

IMA2 Simple command-line editor of binary files (images, object filers, byte code, etc). More sofisticated that F4 option in FAR. More simple that GUI hex editors. Can be useed as command-line utility in scripts.

IdyllaOS is simple operating system. System is based on monolithic kernel with drivers of devices loaded as kernel modules. As required for a modern operating system, it supports features like virtual memory, memory protection and multitasking.

ManRiX is an open source microkernel based operating system with POSIX interface. It is written from scratch using C and Assembly. Microkernel contains just few basic components of an Operating System while others are implemented as user process.

Mayax is a 32-bit hobby operation system with windows style GUI. Actually, it support 2 modes: text mode & GUI. - What it looks like? Perix is a 16/32/64-Bit protected mode kernel, bootable and capable of running with or without an operating system. It is written in Turbo Pascal 7.0 for DOS, Delphi 7.0, Pascal Pro, Virtual Pascal v2.1, Delphi XE2 64-Bit, TASM, TASM32 and JWASM. The latest version, 0.01I, supports multi-processor. Added Open Watcom C++ and Borland C++ examples.

Plato is an open-source operating system designed to run binaries from almost any operating system. Plato is also desinged with the user in mind. It will have an enjoyable, easy to understand and use interface, and everything will be customizable.

Prex is a portable real-time operating system for embedded systems. The small, reliable and low power kernel is written in C language based on micro kernel design. File system, UNIX process and networking features are provided by user mode tasks.

Sensa is not an operating system, is a work environment compatible with Android © 4.4.4, Firefox OS ©, Linux Ubuntu 12.12 ©, MacOS Classic 7 ©, MS -DOS © operating systems, and Microsoft Windows 8.1 ©; whose distribution is free, and with source code available under GNU GPL 2.0 license .
