Originally developed on a CTOS Color NGEN, at first in Pascal, later ported to C, finally - 20 years later - ported to Linux. Currently it's still not really system independent. The OS includes a kernel, bootloader, dynamic shared object linker, C standard library, its own composited windowing system, a dynamic bytecode-compiled programming language, advanced code editor, and dozens of other utilities and example applications. There are no external runtime dependencies and all required source code, totaling roughly 100k lines of (primarily) C, is included in this repository, save for Kuroko, which lives separately. Through out the project, ToaruOS has also attracted quite a few beginner OS developers who have tried to use it as a reference. -

Pi64 is not an emulator, it just mimics the 80's classic 8bit computers with SDL based graphics and RtAudio based sound. The fullscreen editor for shell and the built-in program editor help you create your own programs and games.
