jQuery is a DOM manipulation library. It reads from and writes to the DOM. React uses a virtual DOM (a JavaScript representation of the real DOM). React only writes patch updates to the DOM, but never reads from it. It is not feasible to keep real DOM manipulations in sync with React's virtual DOM. Because of this, all jQuery functionality has been re-implemented in React. Declarative APIs provide for robust features and prop validation. Control the rendered HTML tag, or render one component as another component. Extra props are passed to the component you are rendering as. Augmentation is powerful. You can compose component features and props without adding extra nested components. This is essential for working with MenuLinks and react-router. Shorthand props generate markup for you, making many use cases a breeze. All object props are spread on the child components. Components with repeating children accept arrays of plain objects. -

With Sizes we'll avoid launching all the supported devices simulator, running our app and navigating through each screen manually which not only takes a lot of time but its also highly error-prone since we sometimes forget to test one particular combination and we ship a screen with a layout bug to the App Store. Xcode 11 introduced Previews which is a fantastic way to quickly validate your UI in multiple scenarios just like Sizes did. If you'd like to know more about Xcode Previews I recommend this WWDC session. You can even use Previews with UIKit so there's no reason to stick to this library. -

SwiftCrossUI implements a simple API similar but not identical to SwiftUI, allowing you to use the basic concepts of SwiftUI to create a cross-platform desktop app. SwiftCrossUI is designed to be flexible and can work with different backends, but has a focus on using GTK+ through SwiftGTK. Create cross-platform desktop apps for macOS, Linux and Windows. Work has been started to support multiple different backends. Switching backends only requires changing a single line of code! Currently there's the Gtk 4 backend, as well as an experimental AppKit backend (AppKitBackend, macOS-only). All examples use GtkBackend for maximum compatibility, but you can update them manually to try out the various available backends. Work is being done to allow the backend used by the examples to be changed from the command line. -

If you don't have a supported OS or processor architecture, or you use --build-from-source, the module will be compiled on your system. This requires several dependencies, including Cairo and Pango. Note that libgif/giflib, librsvg and libjpeg are optional and only required if you need GIF, SVG and JPEG support, respectively. Cairo v1.10.0 or later is required. This project is an implementation of the Web Canvas API and implements that API as closely as possible. For API documentation, please visit Mozilla Web Canvas API. (See Compatibility Status for the current API compliance.) All utility methods and non-standard APIs are documented. When MIME data is tracked, PDF canvases can embed JPEGs directly into the output, rather than re-encoding into PNG. This can drastically reduce filesize and speed up rendering. If working with a non-PDF canvas, image data must be tracked, otherwise the output will be junk. -

Cross-platform Rust rewrite of the GNU coreutils
uutils is an attempt at writing universal (as in cross-platform) CLI utilities in Rust. Many GNU, Linux and other utilities are useful, and obviously some effort has been spent in the past to port them to Windows. However, those projects are written in platform-specific C, a language considered unsafe compared to Rust, and have other issues. Rust provides a good, platform-agnostic way of writing systems utilities that are easy to compile anywhere, and this is as good a way as any to try and learn it. The requirements are to have Rust (cargo, rustc), GNU Make (required to build documentation), Sphinx (for documentation), and gzip (for installing documentation). uutils follows Rust's release channels and is tested against stable, beta and nightly. The current oldest supported version of the Rust compiler is 1.43.1. On both Windows and Redox, only the nightly version is tested currently. -
