"...to add a feature ... to the AppleCommander command line interface to interpret the first two bytes of a binary file as start address, ignore the second two bytes and process the rest as usual ... for both DOS 3.3 and ProDOS 8 images."

I propose adding the following command: -cc65 <destname> <type> <imagename>, that writes stdin to destname with the given type onto imagename and assumes a four-byte, little-endian header specifying start address in the first two bytes. The length would still be determined by the length of the input stream. The command should work for any cross-assembler or cross-compiler with such a header.

I'm using the CC65 cross-compiler to generate Apple ][
binaries under windows and then I move them to disk
image via a2tools. When I found AppleCommander I
wanted to switch over to it so I could use something
with a GUI.

The problem I'm having is that when I import my binary,
I can't seem to have AC import it "raw", i.e. when it
imports it as binary, it looks like it is prepending
the binary offset/length at the start. Unfortunately,
CC65 has already added this header, so you can see what
nastiness happens when you go
to BRUN.

File preview

Rob File previewing capabilities would be a nice addon.
