I checked out and compiled the latest cvs-version but to no avail - it just won't burn anything. Please contact me if you think this issue might be related to cdrdao (because I am able to burn CDs with Cyberlink InstantBurn e.g.) so that I can help in providing more specific and verbose information. I am best reached via zyrill@jabber.org or via mailto://zyrill@gmx.ch

cdrdao hangs on read

Hi,

I am getting problems with cdrdao locking up with a
particular device. I have isolated the device and
checked cabling and hardware settings. I can only put
if down to firmware, but I believe that is the latest.
Here is the problem:

cdrdao read-cd or cdrdao read-toc cause complete lock
up of system.

Reproducible: Always

Ver 1.2.1 and 1.2.2
last output:
libscg ver schily-0.8
SCSI-3/MMS Version 2 Option 0x0000

Hardware:
introduced causing cue-sheets with pre-gaps or index

I can not find anything in the release notes concerning
a modified behaviour, same cue-sheet works with 1.1.9
flawlessly.

Example:
TRACK AUDIO
SILENCE 00:02:00
START
FILE "1_b.wav" 00:00:00

(1_b.wav being 2:40) results in
<andreas@daneb.de>
is described as a driver that besides the music data
needs to specify the P-Q subchannel data... But since
the cdrdao changelog(1.1.6) states that only the R-W
subs can be written and read, how can the raw driver
then specify the P-Q subs when burning? Or does the raw
driver just burn the raw 2352 bytes sectors, and lets
the drive itself generate the P-Q subs ? Or can cdrdao
burn the P-Q subs, but only packed and not raw ? and
does the raw driver use raw-dao or raw-sao ? And
finally.. Is the burning quality with the
generic-mmc-raw driver the same as the generic-mmc
driver ? cdrdao-1.2.0 with all features enabled.

However, when I try to write a CD from gcdmaster, the
progress window states "aborted with error". When I try
from the command line, the normal software startup
the command prompt reappears without any writing
happening, and no error message appears.

want to take a look I
put the effect here:

[i can supply wav files too, of course]

Well, I'm rather sure it's not the problem of reading
cd, since wav's made by
cdparanoia are just fine. But I cannot be 100% sure
that cdrdao is reading OK
too since I don't know the method to "play" *.bin files...

I believe this is why cdrdao turns my asterisk into a

No patch - the fix should be obvious and trivial :-).
Even better would be an option so the RT priority could
asterisk...

win32 (ASPI installed ok), scanbus returns no drives

Hi,

Just having a problem with cdrdao for windows.

Basically if I do a scanbus nothing comes up.

I checked and reinstalled dthe lastes version of ASPI
just in case that was the problem. I know that when I
had linux on that machine, the scanbus worked for
cdrdao.

In addition, I downloaded burnatonce to see if it worked,
and it does detect my drive. Not sure if it uses cdrdao's
scanbus or it's own. Just thought it may help with my
problem.

My CD is a Sony CRX140E. I am runing in Win2000.

(latest version).

My drive is a Pioneer DVR107D

Here is the command I run:
cdrdao write --driver generic-mmc --speed 4 master.toc

Even though I specify a speed of 4X it still says:

Cdrdao version 1.1.9 - (C) Andreas Mueller
<andreas@daneb.de>

Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'

/dev/cdrecorder: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D Rev: 1.10
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options
0x0000)

Burning entire 74 mins disc.
Starting write at speed 10...
Pausing 10 seconds - hit CTRL-C to abort.

Why is it saying speed 10 if i told it to record at
speed 4?

This is really frustrating, as I am trying to prepare a
gift for someone by making a CD of a live recording.

The recorded WAV file is:
Sample rate: 44.1Khz
Bit: 16 Bit
Channels: 2

When I burn the disc, it seems to burn without buffer
underruns, but when I play it back in my CD Player, I
hear the music, but then an intermittent BUZZ cuts in
and out over the music.

What gives?

I would appreciate any suggestions or help. I'm
desperate to get this project done on time.
