&lt;p&gt;After a while (today was 10 days update), checkgmail will consume an enormous amount of memory (33% on 1Gb ram). Restarting the process clears the memory and it goes back to consuming 'no' memory. Network connection is pretty stable (desktop, always on) but it's possible it goes down sometimes.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I can't provide more information, partly because I don't know what else to include, partly because I had to restart the process to be sure it would be fixed.&lt;/p&gt;
