screen resolutions? game window sizeable?
"Is there a chance for different tables respectively different background pics, maybe skinnable? I can create some, if you`re interested in."

>> acetyle: I am not good at graphics... CUT OFF :)
>> Crusher: Need some info about format, size, filenames and alpha channel.

>> acetyle: we have to decide of a static resolution.
>> At the present time, all button are anchored top
>> left or bottom right and pictures are stretched.

CRUSHER: i agree with that, i would make at max. the options for 3 different resolutions (at fullscreen):
1280x1024 - 1024x768 - 800x600 (i'm not sure if anyone is running his desktop at that resolution anymore)
If you decide to make the window sizeable (in limits), we can't go much lower than 800x600 - anything above
should be no problem. Of course, I would like to see an option to have PokDTC available at every time and at
all positions on screen (perhaps as a widget for the opera browser) - but that's just me :)

>> acetyle: filenames for cards - look at cards folder

CRUSHER: no need to change the filenames, if you decide to have different card-graphics available,
just add one or more folders. If you tell me nothing different, i'll keep your names.

>> acetyle:
>> I could make the background skinnable no problem.
>> size: 90x100 on table and own hole cards , 70x80
>> opp hole cards, back ground 1024x780 ?

CRUSHER: I've already measured the different sizes of the cards. Probably i know the second most about
every pixel on screen, beneath you :) - I've scanned every pixel on screen i could be aware of...
IMHO you could do what you want with the "source graphics" if the quality is good enough, but
in my experience it is best to work with the "native" resolution, without to stretch the graphics in any way.
It's easy for me to make different sizes of the cards without any quality loss through deforming/resizing
- and i'm thinkling that quality matters, in every respect.

>> acetyle:
>> Alpha channel : several choice: you can choose
>> which one you want or you change the top left pixel
>> into the color you want to be transparent (I will
>> load it as alpha channel with C#)

CRUSHER:
I'm abstracting:
Alpha channel = not in all formats available
Top left pixel = we have to take an indexed or fixed palette format? (like GIF)
Perhaps you could mask out every pixel (like a green/blue/whatever box) ?
JPG has no transparency options, but PNG has.
BMP has no, beside this it's way too big.

My favorite is PNG because of a relative good (and lossless) compression, can have indexed palette and the option to have an alpha channel or a transpartent color.

DXT (Nvidia DDS) is not an option i guess - i hope not, because the result is very unpredictable, based
on the DXT-Format (DXT1, DXT3, DXT5 ...) :)

If i have to deceide, i would make it simple: All simple backgrounds pure pink:
R-255 G-0 B-255. Any other straight color is acceptable. For complex backgrounds with drop shadows
i prefer an alpha channel.

Prefabricated AI names

AI-NAMES:
