Do you mean that without Classic Start Menu running the clock program shows the clock correctly on the Windows 7/8 taskbar? You can try exiting Classic Start Menu by right clicking the Start button and choosing Exit. If still the clock doesn't show properly, then it's an incompatibility with the program and the Windows 7 Taskbar, nothing Classic Shell can do.

Btw you can change the clock format on Windows 7/8 from Regional and Language Options (W7) or "Region" (Windows 8) Control Panel. The format you set for short date is the one that shows on the taskbar. There is also a free program called 7+ Taskbar Tweaker that enables the display of seconds on the taskbar.

For several years I've used a small application to change the clock display in the far right-hand end of the task bar (Windows XP, Free Desktop Clock) It allows me to display the date in HH:MM:SS format with date, month and day of week included.

The application will run in Win7 & Win8 with Classic Shell, but does not display. I think the Classic Shell taskbar takes priority. (always on top?)

It would be very helpful to have clock format choices in Classic Shell, or have some mechanism to allow the Free Desktop Clock application to overlay the taskbar.
