As it it, I have spent far too long trying to get it to install, wasting much time with installing dozens of perl modules, and trying to track down the cause of perl error messages.

Having a self-contained package, which has all/most of the needed perl packages included in it (along with connotea itself) would simplify installation of Connotea considerably.

Installing Connotea should be made to be a breeze.

Support for '/' in tags

In order to use the DOI as tag, the tags should allow at least the '/' in the tag.

Dynamic tagging

del.icio.us has a very handy system for managing tags.
In connotea, adding new or existing tags involve to
know them all, or forgot some of them during the
tagging process.

It would be very nice to implement a dynamic tagging
interface, where used tags appear somewhere on the add
page, a simple clic putting the down in the form.

BiBTeX export

I've seen that it is planned to release a BiBTeX import
features, which is a great idea.

But I'm also heavily using a BiBTeX database to write
my papers, and a BiBTeX export filter is really
necessary to use connotea as a reference manager.
