Provide separate screen for managing the reference file, and remove the Edit button from the Add Markups dialog box. Allow the user to also delete and edit keyword and markup types. Also allow him to define all possible types of markup type – by setting the flags however he wishes

Reference file modified attributes

Add last modified by, and last modified datetime to all reference elements, and also have them on the root element.

Reference file auto download

Allow the user to overwrite his existing reference file with one from a specified URL. Possible to set up so that every time the user opens the application, the application will attempt to check if the online reference.xml has been updated more recently than the local reference.xml. If it has been, then the user will be prompted to allow the application to automatically download the online reference.xml file to the database.

Allow user to add, remove, split, shift text between blocks. (Disabled if any inline elements have been defined on any of the blocks involved).

Proper message when markup id not found in reference file

Display an informative message if a transcript is opened which contains one or more elements without corresponding markup IDs in the reference file. (Should give missing ID values, as well as associated blocks).

Should display markup with a bright red background in the textarea and the tree, and ID values should be written in the tooltip

Have a Google-style search textbox either at the top or the bottom of the app (like the "Find" box in Firefox) which allows the user to search for a particular text string within the currently open document.
