#62 Add screen blank toggle
Please add a screen blanking feature that allows one to blank the screen, or perhaps another to turn the panel off while dban'ing. i.e. 'press B to blank screen'
For laptops, one is not able to turn the panel off while nuking and with the considerable size of drives these days, it sometimes takes many days to complete.
LCDs should theoretically not burn-in we have seen this before on LCD panels and would like to be able to stop this from occuring.
i know this feature was requested a decade ago and is not implemented in the latest DBAN version 2.3.0, but for others that may comes across this post screen blanking is available in ShredOS which runs nwipe ShredOS 2020. ShredOS 2020/ Nwipe is the modern, maintained and updated version of DBAN/dwipe. Nwipe supports screen blanking during wipes.
