Dear DocDB Developers,

tonight (Japan time) I am trying to upload a document from Japan over a slow link, and I hit a funny behavior.

i originally forgot to specify a document type for my document. however, docdb didn't catch this until AFTER uploading 10 MB worth of files at some ludicrously slow speed. probably that check should be performed before
upload if at all possible.

Hope you find this a helpful suggestion.

Add MySQL version to config

For version 9.x, we will add the MySQL major version to the config file so we can selectively use more powerful versions of MySQL.

Implement Status

This will be a version 9 feature. We will implement a status for documents. For instance, one group wants to set "Do not distribute" as a status. It's also possible that statuses of draft, final, etc. might be wanted.

Then the question becomes do we have groups of status codes or just one list with multiple selections..

Allow users to see list of groups

At the top of the documents by group page should be a link to another page. This would show the group info that is visible to admins: which groups are above/below a given group and which people are members of said group (assuming certificates).

Identify read-only groups as such

Read-only groups are shown as being able to modify or view a document even if the settings don't allow it. Some way of indicating this group is truly read-only is needed.

Move query -> header into DocDBHeader

DocDBHeader is the logical place to move all or almost
all the query header commands. It could also be made
smart enough to not repeat itself and could then be
called automatically from EndPage/WarnPage etc.

Add link from private to public

Add some words or a link if possible to the public
instructions to the private version of the DB.
Apparently people can get confused.

Speed up help by switching XML parsers

DocDBHelp uses one XML parser. The parser used for
reading back info from external DocDB's seems to be
much faster. It should be pretty trivial to switch
which should speed up the help pop-ups.
