&lt;p&gt;tonight (Japan time) I am trying to upload a document from Japan over a slow link, and I hit a funny behavior.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i originally forgot to specify a document type for my document.  however, docdb didn't catch this until AFTER uploading 10 MB worth of files at some ludicrously slow speed.  probably that check should be performed before&lt;br /&gt;
upload if at all possible.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Hope you find this a helpful suggestion.&lt;/p&gt;

reading back info from external DocDB's seems to be&lt;br /&gt;
much faster. It should be pretty trivial to switch&lt;br /&gt;
