Hi,

I want to convert my DIY CNC which is currently used as a laser cutter to a drag knife cutter.
I want to use DXF2GCODE to create the gcode files.
I have compiled and installed the software and am currently trying different settings.
It seems to work okay, but I am wondering if there are settings for lead in and overcut.
Lead in seems neccessary to make sure the drag knife is rotated in the right direction before cutting the actual part. Overcut should make sure that the part is completely cut at the start/end point.
Are these functions already implemented?

Thanks in advance for your reply,
Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

i am sorry, but the lead in and lead out function is not implemented for drag knife up to now. It's only there fore milling right now.

    best regards
    Christian

      Hi Christian,

      Thanks for your reply!
Do you have any plans to implement it for the drag knife too, since it is already there for milling?
And about the overcut feature, is that present for drag knife cutting?
I honestly don't know if overcut is the right name, but I mean continue cutting for a small length (1 mm for example) to make sure the part is fully cut.

Thank you for creating this project. It is already a great piece of software as it is. I couldn't find any other free or cheap software that has the drag knife compensation. For me, lead in and overcut would make it perfect.

      Thanks again,
      Ryan
