I think it would be great if you could add an option which permit to store the gain information calculate by mp3gain in id3v2 format instead of APEv2 (like foobar did). Maybe you could use the method describe hear : http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t42005.html
(PS : sorry for my bad english)
Indeed this would make sense. But as easyMP3Gain uses mp3gain as backend, and the backend is not able to store the tags in id3v2, there is also no option for this in easyMP3Gain. As soon as mp3gain supports this feature it will also be in the frontend.
Thanks for that link, I will have a look at it.
However I can't promise anything.

Hi,
I'd also like to see that feature. I have a Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox and Rockbox cannot read ape tags, but will read the id3 tags.
I just tag like this : mp3gain -s i <files>
also see 'man mp3gain'.
You can have a look at http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Hack:ape2id3.py and http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Hack:rg.py
I'm using these scripts to add ID3 tags besides the APEv2 tag, because I need both kinds. Nearly all my PC music players expect the APE tag, except for mpd that needs the ID3 tag.
Any progress on this feature? mp3gain now (1.5.2) has option "-s i", that writes information into ID3v2 tags.
10 years later no progress on that. mp3gain still writes APEs on mp3 files which is very annoying because all of my players expect ID3 tags and gaining their levels doesn't work. :(
I know I can use mp3tag for Windows but I prefer to not to have to use a Windows program.
