Mic is super bad and unclear right now so I have looked online and have decided to use this to help fix it. However, whenever I try to install APO on my mic it does not work. Any help is much appreciated! A screenshot is attached.
Perhaps trying the 3 APO techniques yourself instead of letting the Device Selector doing it for you. Still may fail but one of them might work. Do you know how to try them one by one?

Perhaps it's a general issue. Does Equalizer APO work on another device?
Although I don't use my Realtek Audio mic output I have Equalizer APO installed on it. Usually this isn't a problem so I don't know why it doesn't work for your mic device. It could be that Realtek have neither of the 3 APO techniques installed. It seems to happen in rare occasions. I don't know if Windows has a basic APO installed for each device or requires a manufacturer to install at least one.
Are there any other troubleshooting options which can be changed? I only have pre-mix and APO techniques for my mic.
Also, it seems that some have solved this by installing another device driver software (such a package may include an APO). This could be a former or a newer one from Realtek, for instance.

I have the newest Realtek Audio drivers so should I try revert to an older driver?
It' might be worth to try. Unfortunately, Realtek isn't known for its quality software. It could be that the older one is actually better than the new one.

That's unfortunate. The only other option left is using Voicemeeter. Equalizer APO can be installed on its virtual audio devices A1 to A5. It's then a matter of rerouting the mic sound through Voicemeeter. There are Youtube videos how to do this. Unfortunately I'm not an expert in using Voicemeeter.

Hello! I gave it a try and it still doesn't work unfortunately it won't let me install the APO onto the virtual cable output that I used to reroute the mic sound

I've Voicemeeter running, not as an active app but as developer of the Peace equalizer. On my laptop I was able to install Equalizer APO on Voicemeeter output A1 and VB-Audio Voicemeeter VIAO. It's a tiny bit cumbersome as one has to click "Ok" then start the Device Selector again to check if it was successful. I didn't check if Equalizer APO actually works on both virtual devices.
Unfortunately I don't know what you can do next. Btw. I don't use Equalizer APO on my mic any longer. I bought a cheap USB mic for 40 Euro which I also use for creating Peace YouTube tutorials.

I managed to get it to install on my mic now but once I open the configurator it comes up with an error saying the APO is not installed on the device. Do you possibly know what the problem is here?

Sometimes the Configurator / Device Selector says there's a problem where there isn't. To check if Equalizer APO is still working despite the message, use a pre amp to see if the sound can be made louder or softer. A pre amp is the easiest way.
But usually it's caused by the app that came with the mic (if any that is). It might check if any changes are made to its own APO or other Windows registry entries. In that case it might restore these entries at app startup causing Equalizer APO to uninstalled (Basically installing means changing Windows registry keys for that particular device).
If the above is the case this might be solved by changing the APO technique. Or by not installing the app that came with the mic.
Another possibility which happens rarely, is that an anti-malware/firewall app restores Windows registry keys causing Equalizer APO to be uninstalled.

Thank you for your response! I tried the idea you suggested unfortunately it did not work and I ran into the same problem

Sorry for the late reply, I will check if it works on a different device of mine.

Thanks for the advice I'll give it a try and see if it works.
I have tried multiple drivers and a different device but it just doesn't seem to install it on to my chosen device and always comes up with an error.

The virtual cable of Voicemeeter? Have you installed it on one of A1 to A5 of Voicemeeter? Only those work.
I attempted to install it on A1 but it did not work, so I tried VB Cable but it did not work either

Thank you for all the help! I think I will just have to purchase a new mic or stick with this one

The configurator gave a false message it all works now! Thanks for all the help
That's just great to hear 😃
