We have a lot of computers in our network. To avoid cluttering the screen with long FQDN's, it would be nice to have an option for NOT displaying the domainname part of the FQDN (for local computers only).

Found a solution (on Ubuntu) ... no need to add this feature to Etherape.
In /etc/host.conf you can add 'trim .yourdomain.com'.
