FG works normally when you connect a new device (whether it is a mouse or a joystick) but crashes almost immediately when you disconnect something, especially joystick. Mouse may or may not cause crash, I have no idea what this depends on.
Reproducible both on 2020.3 and on 2020.4
System: Win 10
Crash log is attached although I can't see anything valuable there.

Would you be able to try this on a newer build of 2024? There has been lots of work done to the HID system in the time since you encountered this issue, so hopefully it should work on a new build.
If it still doesn't work please post a log of the crash.
