- Milestone: 2020.3 --> None
Running FlightGear 2020.3.19 on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS.
When disabling photoscenery in flight, FlightGear locked up for a moderate period of time before crashing and exiting without any error messages. Automatic scenery download was enabled, and I am using satellite photoscenery. However, it might be worthy to note that for significant portions of the flight, automatic scenery download was not able to keep up - that is to say I would "outfly" the scenery before new scenery tiles were loaded. I believe tiles and photoscenery were loaded at the time of the crash however.
I have attached the entire log file for the session in question, which is on the larger side (10MB and 69,686 lines) for completeness, however what I believe to be the relevant section of the log begins at line 46,171. The remaining 23,000 lines of the log contain only this message:
2300.64 [WARN]:OSG /app/include/simgear/debug/OsgIoCapture.hxx:36: Error VertexBufferObject::removeBufferData(186708) out of range.
Where the argument to VertextBufferObject::removeBufferData() is a different number each time. A cursory search seems to indicate that a warning appears for each number twice over the course of all the error messages.
Happy to provide any additional information. I think satellite photoscenery has been one of the best graphical additions to FlightGear in recent memory, so I would love to see support for it continue to mature.
