FWB won't let me name an interface with a dot

If I try to give an interface a name with a dot in it, like veth100.0 or vif1.0,
commonly used for virtual interfaces to reach virtual machines, FWB consider it is a VLAN interface and refuses the name:
"'veth100.0' looks like a name of a vlan interface but it does not match the name of the parent interface 'host'"
I use 5.1.0 on Fedora 19 (fwbuilder-5.1.0.3599-4.fc19.x86_64)
