Looking for suggestions on how to a clean Uninstall. fwbuilder 5.1.0.3599 installed 8/12/2016 on Windows 8.1, reports 17MB space. Program installed and ran with no issues. Didn't use the program for many months and decided to uninstall. The uninstall program ran normally from the the Control Panel Programs listing, but deleted 3/4 of the programs that had shortcuts on the desktop. Deleted files include executables as well as other program files of a dozen or so other programs besides fwbuilder. Seems to leave Windows System Files alone, but deleted programs such as Foxit Reader, Microsoft Office Suite, and many others. No error messages. The uninstall window reports "Uninstall successful". Examination of the directory structure indicates a very long recursive tree under /Program Files (x86)/Microchip/ which keeps repeating the same directory tree pattern every 5 or 6 levels down. Otherwise the computer seems to work normally with no surprises.
Thank you!
Found information about why this trouble existed. Somehow FWB installed itself directly into C:\Program Files(x86). No subdirectory was created. The main programs list in Control Panel must have activated a number of different uninstall programs. Searched for all files on C:\ containing FW or fwbuilder and deleted each one manually. Then ran a reg cleaner to delete the registry keys. Don't know how this unintended mess happened, but I believe the problem is solved.
Thanks,
FTF
