&lt;p&gt;I use a dark theme on Linux (Vertex Dark). It seems that fwbuilder is explicitly setting the background of the left panel (to light green?), but doesn't detect the dark theme, which sets the font color to light (because it expects a dark background). The result is very low-contrast - nearly unreadable.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I would suggest one of these:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Don't set the background, which should then adapt to the theme's background (as is generally recommended at the moment)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Give the possibility to select the background color (If there is a way, I haven't found it yet)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Give the possibility to change the font color for the tables.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
