I just installed the stable version of glest, and it
says that the game is freeware. Please fix it to show
the GPL. Please also fix it so the user knows they
don't have to accept the licence to install it!

The user HAS to accept the license in order to install the
software (although, in principle, the terms of the license
are not as bounding as a regular EULA).

Glest is GPL, users do not need to accept the GPL terms to use GPL software! The GPL only specifies terms for things restricted by copyright - copying, distribution & modification.
