In Linux, the caret neither works in preview nor in template but in 64 bit Ubuntu 12.10 the text input does not work in the transaction preview screen either. Reported by Christian.

Using Gnome (2!?) instead of KDE might improve the situation but altogether I would say it's bug https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=97007
