<div class="markdown_content"><p>This is a reminder (to myself) that when the gnuplot executable is started "hidden", the Direct2D backend of the windows terminal fails to display something.</p> <p>Eli Zaretskii reports in <a class="alink" href="/p/gnuplot/bugs/2116/">[#2116]</a>:</p> <blockquote> <p>(...) Emacs on MS-Windows by default invokes console programs with the wShowWindow member of the STARTUPINFO structure set to SW_HIDE, to avoid popping up the console window of the sub-program.</p> </blockquote> <p>And later:</p> <blockquote> <p>if I set the terminal to "windows", the GUI window opens, but is blank. I need to click on Options and select the GDI+ backend, then the graph appears.
