The bad news - Blizzard did indeed structurally change the character file format and the item format. So far I've only found the changes affected only a little bit of what GoMule is interested in, but you'll have to use the game to time-warp items to their 2.4 version.
OK, the new GoMule opens all of my 2.4 files; now it's just a matter of moving my 6000+ items to a new shared stash. I still have a copy of all of my pre 2.4 files, so while time-consuming, it will work.
Thanks for the quick fix! I was not looking forward to creating 50 mules! :)

Happy to hear it! Let me know if you run into any problems. Sorry about all the manual work, hopefully one day Blizz will give us all a muling program :D

Hey guys, figured I add to this thread. I noticed ATMA stashes are also not loading into GoMule 4.4.14, I had them on GoMule 4.13 but not longer open a bug shows up, attaching image of error.
1) Close D2R and GoMule
2) Copy empty shared stash (from Silospen) into d2r saved games.
3) Open GoMule to verify it's working and put a heal in it.
4) Close GoMule
5) Open D2R, add a heal to shared stash.
6) Close D2R
7) Open GoMule
8) Shared stash is disconnected.

I am having the same issue for the shared stash and the single character I played after the latest DII Resurrection update.
Troubleshooting steps taken:
Please let me know what information is needed.
Thanks, Blizzard changed the file format with this patch, ill see if I can decode it.
Give this version a whirl, see how it works out https://sourceforge.net/projects/gomule/files/gomule/R0.44/GoMuleR4.4.14-BETA_Resurrected_1.0.zip/download

I have some ideas of how this could be made easier, for one here's an empty shared stash from pre-2.4: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gomule/files/gomule/R0.44/SharedStashSoftCoreV2.d2i/download
What you'll need to do is something like:
(Obviously you can do the same thing with characters, but you might not have any pre 2.4 characters if you opened them all up already!)
Let me know how it goes, also send angry email to Blizz about updating their file format ;P

Thanks so much for the quick response! I'll download the beta and try to get to testing before next weekend,

here's some 2.3 character files for those that need it, to go with the 2.3 stash silospen posted above.
Am I doing it wrong?
1) Close D2R and GoMule
2) Copy empty shared stash (from Silospen) into d2r saved games.
3) Open GoMule to verify it's working and put a heal in it.
4) Close GoMule
5) Open D2R, add a heal to shared stash.
6) Close D2R
7) Open GoMule
8) Shared stash is disconnected.
So, at this point, we can move GoMule items to D2R.
We cannot move items from D2R 2.4 back to GoMule, there is no fix for this (yet).
Because when the shared stash is opened in D2R, it is converted to 2.4, and so no longer readable by GoMule.
