Hi,
I tries to download a large par article, which is 623MB big. HelloNZB starts downloading without any issues, but it stops at 80%. Then it just stops responding and it does nothing. The log also does not say anything.
I use the version 1.4.1.2 with Java 1.8.0_25 (32bit).
I attached the article where it stops responding. Could you please take a look? I checked if it is downloadble at all and it is with other tools. Maybe the memory settings are not big enough?

Thanks,

I've also run into this problem, in the past, and with the most recent version and latest Java. I don't think it's merely a matter of the size of a single article. And I have a new machine with lots of speed and memory. Also the instruction above is clear as mud.

What is the issue with the instructions in the link above?

I noticed this some time ago also.

It is about the FILE-size (usually RAR), not articles/segments or whatever.
As many tools do, the whole file is downloaded to memory, decoded, then saved.
This increases speed, because it minimalizes disk-activity.
Using SABnzbd too (with 8 newsservers), with 1536 MB RAM allocated.

Start HelloNZB with 'much more memory for Java' (as per above message) solves the problem.
    Piece of cake! :)

Hi there! Can't connect to usenet servers with version 1.4.2 - latest version that used to work was 1.3.5 - I'm on Win 7 32bit. Any ideas? Installes latest Java 8(40)

Hi, I also have this issue with very large files too - typically trying to download a file in the region of 1.4GB. Restarting does not help, as although the download restarts afresh, it hangs again at the same point. It is reliably reproduceable.

Edit: Just spotted the FAQ - will try upping the java memory allocation.

Hi. I also have the memory problem (program hangs up always at the same position, file size ~600mb, no error message in the logs) and the FAQ is unclear, since it seems to refer to the jar-version, but not to the exe-version of the program. I already googled for help, but it's beyond me.

How do I allocate memory with the exe-file?

I think I got it now. Created a bat-file. Hopefully this does solve this problem.
