I stumbled across HyperGraph by accident. I am looking for some kind of plug-in, ideally to use in WordPress since I am a rank amateur with coding and html. I would like to use a visualization plug-in like what you have made here as a sophisticated form of tag cloud. Ideally it might be structured so that a certain node representing a tag is linked to the 3-5 other nodes/tags which are associated with it the most in blog posts. Do you have such a plug-in, or know anyone who has made something like this? I am still quite a while away from being comfortable doing any but the most basic html stuff. Thanks! --Colignius Ferox (Colignius at gmail.com)

Browsing feature: hide nodes by name or order

Sometimes when browsing very dense graphs, it would be nice if I could remove nodes or edges that I don't care about, and have the software redraw the graph instantly.

I would like to be able to selectively exclude nodes (and associated edges) by name, class, order (inward edges, outward edges, or total).

This may conflict with bug [ 1904783 ]: if a central node is removed, the graph may become multiple disconnected components.

Richard C. When the graph is large, node names may be hidden (compare feature request [ 1395627 ]). In that case, it is not obvious how to find a given node.

It would be nice to have some feature that would bring a given node to the center. This is probably what support request [ 1446104 ] was looking for. I would suggest a box to allow a node name to be typed in.

Richard C. Installing Java is a pain on my system. I don't know if its worth the trouble if I can't see what HyperGraph actually is from pictures.

Unicode and Bidrectional Language Support

Excellent tool,

found HyperGraph very inspiring! Nice job so far. Keep the good work up!

In order to use it to display topic maps it wood be a major improvement to have directed edges. Otherwise the relation between two nodes can hardly be interpreted undisputed. Cause very often in topic maps your graph represents a statement. To interprete this statement you need to know which node is the subject and which is the object.

Best regards.
indicated on the project homepage. This is a great
project that would be further exploited with complete
documentation.

Exploding nodes

There is the need to allow the user to expand / shrink
the graph on mouse clicks, similar to the behavious of
(for example) Touchgraph.
The applet has to store the full graph, but only show
parts of it. If the user clicks on a node, the adjacent
nodes from the full graph are added to the visible
graph. Visible nodes which are too far away from the
current node should be removed from the visible graph
so that the number of visible nodes should be roughly
constant.

Commerical Software

I think this is a GREAT project! I stumbled across a
similar commercial product, www.thinkmap.com and
their example visual thesaurus. The developer kit
they offer looks very nice, but the price is very
high. Keep up the good work!

property documentation, node shapes, node location

I really like your project. I believe it is currently the only
project that reads gxl and displays it using an applet.
That's an awesome capability!

I am currently working on a software tool that reads
binary data from a simulation and then generates gxl
files that represent communication networks. I want to
use your tool to be able to browse the network.

Here are some things I would like to see to be able to
use your software more effectively.

1) I would like to see some documentation on how to
use property file (.prop).

2) I would like to be able to specify node locations for
drawing specific shapes by reading the gxl x,y,z
position data and draw the graph accordingly.

3) I would like to specify shapes for the nodes and fill
them with color.

Keep up the great work!
