Possible to support Epson GT Series Scanners w/Network Option?

We like this project, however we have one large item holding back wide spread deployment. Please advise if it would be possible to support Epson GT Series Scanners with their Network/Ethernet option. The same driver is used to scan via USB and the network, however iCopy seems to require that the scanner be actually connected to the PC it is running on. Unfortunately we are not .NET programmers, but perhaps there are other ways we can assist the project...
Dear Kevin,
thank you very much for your interest in the project. iCopy uses WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) API to interact with the scanner. The API provides a function that lists all the available devices that support WIA. If a device is not listed, iCopy is not able to connect to it.
It's up to the manufacturer to implement WIA support in their device driver and with all the connections available. So the question is wether Epson decided to support WIA with the network connection or just with the USB. It could be necessary to look for updated drivers or software for the scanner.
For example, my Canon multifunction printer needs a network tool to allow Windows to recognize it as a network WIA device.
If the WIA features are not available with the network connection, I'm afraid the scanner won't work with iCopy.
