<div class="markdown_content"><p>Hello,<br /> Can we have a -qqq option please ?</p> <p>One that would prevent all standard and error messages<br /> from being returned, so that we can make better use of<br /> the (many) return codes that unzip provides. This would<br /> really help those of us who like to script utilities<br /> which use unzip.<br /> What I'm looking for is not 'quiet' operation, but silent.</p> <p>I don't want to see output at all, especially errors<br /> when I can check the return code to see if there was a<br /> problem, and deal with it silently. This is what return<br /> codes are for, no ?</p> <p>As it stands, I can't even redirect standard error<br /> because it seems unzip doesn't output error messages<br /> that way.</p> <p>My otherwise quiet script output is riddled with errors<br /> like :<br /> error: invalid compressed data to inflate data.bin<br /> and<br /> file #2: bad zipfile offset (local header sig): <br /> 2448062<br /> and the four line explanation starting <br /> End-of-central-directory signature not found.</p> <p>Might this be a useful feature to others ?<br /> Hopefully,<br /> Tom Matthews</p></div>
