I know it is normal but when I try higher values it works fine but after a while (5, 10, ? minutes) glitches begin and them go to more and more until it sounds as a smaller frames value.
It doesn't happen with other interfaces like RME UFXII or Focusrite PRO40.
Neither when I use ALSA directly.
the same time. but only seem to output to one pcm out
port. i can reset jackd through qjackctl to use either
sound card hw:0 or hw:1 and that does change the pcm
out audio device.
it is clear now that both cards work in alsa at the
same time, and their midi parts work in jackd all right.
why can't i have both pcm out devices or how to i
configure jackd to do that?
i even started two instances of jackd (not in real
time), one configured for each card, but again only one
pcm out device is working, the first instance started.

can't compile with realtime capabilities

hi i use jack since a year and i'm very happy about it.
thanks for all your work. I tried to use a patched
Run configure again without --enable-capabilities.

compiling without realtime works fine

i have libcap 1.10 and md5sum installed

I installed
jack-audio-connection-kit-0.98.1 and it seems to work
with the examples provided. However, I'm at a loss when
it comes to compiling, linking, and running a file
outside of the make file provided in the examples. That is,
make jack_simple_client

produces an executable that works fine.

However, I really don't understand much of what the
make file is doing. What is the .libs directory for,
which seems to get a copy of the executable?

When I my own version of simple_client and compile it:

gcc -g -D_REENTRANT -D_POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS -Wall
-L/usr/local/lib -lpthread -ldl -lm -ljack -o
simple_client simple_client.c

it compiles and links okay. But when I run it I get the
following message, even though libjack.so.0 is in
/usr/local/lib

[hufe@localhost pelaudio]$ ./simple_client mark

What is the purpose of the .libs directory? Also, what
