This occasionally occurs in German medieval manuscripts, for instance in &lt;a class="" href="https://digi.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/diglit/tnb_codxxiii_g_43/0097/image" rel="nofollow"&gt;Prague, National Library, Cod. XXIII.G.43&lt;/a&gt; on more or less every page.
