Keepass is an amazing application but keeping it and it's plugins updated is quite a chore.
When Keepass needs an update it does not tell me until AFTER I have authenticated to my opened database. Then I have to click Keepass on the list which just brings me to the main website (instead of the release notes for that specific version) so I have to then click the new version, then download, then download now, run the exe to install it, manually exit the application instead of the installer closing open instances and then relaunch... only to have reauthenticate and have the update page pop up with pending plugin updates.
There is a link on the update window to the main plugins page, there is not one to the plugins folder or the respective plugins directly. Double clicking a plugin does not actually pull up that plugin on the plugins page.
While I understand the need to not have an automatic update process I was thinking maybe some of these steps could be simplified and reduced.
For example, why not put a link on the bottom of the update check page to the current installations plugin folder where pldx files are placed to ease dropping it right in so I don't have to google where they are or go through menus to find the location and pull it up?
What if the individual component with a new version when clicked actually navigated to the respective plugin's actual page?
Could the update check happen prior to authenticating to a database to prevent getting all logged in and THEN finding out you have to install updates?
Could the newer Keepass installers automatically close running instances so you don't have to log out again?
Some of these things would make updating an existing instance much easier. Thanks so much for your time!
