notepad) is:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- the character of the key can immediately be seen when &lt;br /&gt;
the user holds down the key&lt;br /&gt;
- if the key is held for &amp;gt;~1s, the repeat function makes &lt;br /&gt;
more characters appear&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The behaviour in lcdplugin is:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- user holds down key and releases it&lt;br /&gt;
- if the time was &amp;lt; 250 ms (?), lcdplugin reacts *after &lt;br /&gt;
releasing* the key&lt;br /&gt;
- if the time was 250 ms...1s (?) long, *nothing happens*&lt;br /&gt;
- if the time is &amp;gt; 1s long, it does repeatedly do the &lt;br /&gt;
function&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It seems to me that the wrong key-events are used.&lt;br /&gt;
It is a little bit bothering to hold down the key for the &lt;br /&gt;
