audio to a usable aif or wav file

I am trying to use the audio along with the video from several
formats like video from the web and video off of a HP still camera
that takes video--(I do not use them, but other family members do)

I am trying to get the video with audio into FCP but the video
comes in without audio, so I do the bbDemux but the audio files
are unusable in any program to convert them to .aif or any other
usable audio format to bring into FCP.

What I do is go from one computer to another using the audio
outs and ins and iMovie to capture the audio, then sync it up in
FCP... Is this my only option for Muxed files?

program not working

i'm trying to use bbdemux 1.3 on a mac running os 9.1. it
installed and opened fine, but when i try to demux an mpg
(by dropping an icon in the window or opening a file from
the menu), nothing happens. the window just says "drop
an mpeg or vob file here to demux" with "skip" and
"cancel" buttons below it. the progress bar stays empty,
and in the file menu, "open" and "preferences" are no
longer available.

all i'm trying to do is take a muxed mpg, 6.2mb file size,
and make it a smaller file--around 3mb. is this even the
best way to do this? why can't i make this program work?

any help would be great. thanks!
