On newer kernels >2.6.25 the brightness line must look like BRIGHTNESS=/sys/class/leds/smc\:\:kbd\_backlight/brightness instead of BRIGHTNESS=/sys/class/leds/smc\:kbd\_backlight/brightness \(two colons instead of one\) but that may break things on older kernels, so an if-clause may be helpful.

I've juste updated to the last mactel patch for 2.6.23.9 \(revision 147\) and when I run sensors \(from lm-sensors\) I have a kernel panic. dmesg output in attach. De Ganseman Amaury

Hi, when I use appleir it works perfectly except situation when I hold a button and my macbook does not receive key which was pressed. It tries to repeat scancode 0, which is bad :\) Appended patch helps
