MRTG Mailscanner newest version mountpoint

Hello
this failures i get all 5 minutes.
i know whats a mountpoint , but i did not have one
for /var/spool its a normaly dir , where "/" has a
mountpoint and var/spool is a directory
any ideas why it does not work?

This is normal on the first run, but if you get this
message every five minutes it may indicate problems
reading the log files or writing the state file.

Mountpoints missing

I changed /etc/cron.d/mailscanner-mrtg.crond to point
to /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg which led to the cron job
running.

However, the email I get has these errors, even
though /var/spool and /var/spool/MailScanner/incoming
are both there:

Any ideas why?

Problem locating mrtg >= 2.9

Sorry this is rather newbie, but I get this when I try
installing:

rpm -Uvh mailscanner-mrtg-0.08.01-1.noarch.rpm

error: Failed dependencies:
mrtg >= 2.9 is needed by mailscanner-mrtg-

I installed mrtg-2.10.13 from source following the
instructions at
http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/mrtg-
unix-guide.html and mrtg is in /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin. I
added this directory to the path too.

Any ideas how I get mailscanner-mrtg to recognise this?

slow processing

I recently upgraded our mail server to a Sun V65 with
dual 3.0Ghz Xeons, 2 GB RAM, and 2x36GB SCSI disks
running Redhat 9. This system had been running fine
for about 30 days, processing on average about 80K
messages per day with minimal delay. Last Friday, I
came in to find the load average on the system very
high. It appears to be caused by many mailscanner-mrtg
(v0.08.01) processes running concurrently. I killed
all the processes, removed the lock files, and let cron
continue kicking off the jobs. It seemed to run fine
through Friday, but over the weekend the same thing
happened on a larger scale. On Monday morning there
were over 40 mailscanner-mrtg processes running. There
were also a slew of mail messages warning that there
was a problem:

ERROR: I guess another mrtg is running. A lockfile
(/etc/mrtg/mailscanner-mrtg.cfg_l) aged
1200 seconds is hanging around. If you are sure that no
other mrtg
is running you can remove the lockfile

When I originally installed the software it seemed to
complete the processing in just a few seconds per run.
I notice now that it takes almost three minutes just
to complete the "mail" processing. Thinking that there
might be a problem with the state file, I moved it and
let it regenerate a new one. No change. I will say
that we have fairly large maillog files (currently
156MB, and it's only Tuesday), but I thought with the
new architecture (stateful), this would not be much of
an issue.

The only change I've made (other than virus def updates
and occasional changes to spam.assassin.prefs.conf), is
the addition of a caching DNS server two weeks ago.

Any ideas on where to start debugging this? Thanks.

after installation seems to work well, but i got this error:

The paths are correct, i've tried also to set them with
and without final /, but the result is the same.
Any idea ?

Count of spam at MTA level

Using your version 0.06. I just implemented some
rejections in our smtp gateway (Postfix 2.0.16). The
way it logs the rejections breaks your code to add the
spam identified at that level. The following are examples
from the logs:

If postfix has:
smtpd_recipient_restrictions = ....,
reject_rbl_client dnsbl.njabl.org, ....
it logs:

From my point of view the two factors that make your
code break are:
- The definition of: $mtanamere="postfix\\/(?:n)?
qmgr\\[\\d+\\]";
that includes the qmgr, however the filters are done by
other process.
- The definition of: $mtaspamre="reject:.+55\\d.+";
that includes part of the rejection code, however the
cleanup process don't reject the message. Should I
change it to: $mtaspamre="reject: (RCPT|header)";

The Uptime can not be calculate because the string I
recieved is:
2:30pm up 48 days 21:08, 1 user, load average: 1.02,
0.87, 0.91
and "days" disturb your RE for $getuptime. From your
debug (non-relevant lines suppressed)

Mail & MBytes graphs doesn't work

I'm running:
SuSE Linux 8.2
mrtg-2.10.5
mailscanner-mrtg-0.06
postfix-2.0.16

All the graphics, except Mail Relayed Daily Graph &
MBytes of Mail Transferred Daily Graph, are working fine.

The relevant log line format for this postfix is (example):
Jan 9 00:15:43 mailx postfix/qmgr[1505]: 35E943CFA:
from=<someone@somewhere.com>, size=5110, nrcpt=1
(queue active)

I changed the line 748 from:
$mtanamere="postfix\\/nqmgr\\[\\d+\\]";
to
$mtanamere="postfix\\/qmgr\\[\\d+\\]";

but even with that both:
head /var/www/html/mailscanner-
mrtg/mailbytes/mailbytes.log
and
head /var/www/html/mailscanner-
mrtg/mailbytes/mailbytes.log

show all values with zeroes.

Strange cron errors

ok I have mailscanner running and collecting data but i
have a mostly strange error generated...find below.

webserver rpm

dependency for webserver.

I have failed to locate this rpm, could you please direct
me to where I may find a copy for red hat 7.2.
