#263 General cache search fails for 3.11.40
On non-x86, the new cachesrch.c sometimes fails to detect the L1 cache, which presently kills install with assertion failed.
Need to either fix it so it succeeds in detection, or do what old code did: just guess 32 KB in order to proceed.
Example machines where this happens are POWER9, and I think xgene and/or thunderX.
