Snapshot does not work for memory bitmaps

When using a fixed pixel width 2D graphics window (e.g.
in the Apple.mll demo), snapshot (windows/snapshot)
produces a black, empty window only.
Apart from that the dimensions of the original window
are not preserved in a snapshot - nice to have.

-x^2 is erroneously evaluated as (-x)*(-x) instead of
-(x^2) as intended.
Fix: use -(x^2) in the meantime
