Hi,
We are getting more bufr decoded buoys and I planned to start decoding them with metaf2xm.
First I use bufr2synop
https://github.com/gbvalor/bufr2synop
to turn them into alphanumeric messages. Then I try to use metaf2xml.
It works fine for bufr synop messages but not for buoys. With option -H2 the attached message is recognised as a buoy message but then it throws an error.

Do you have any advise how I need to change the message to meet metaf2xml's expectation?

Hi Andy,

sorry, I can't say when 1.58 will be released. This release requires a bit more effort (for the AMDAR stuff), and I can't say when I'll find the time.

However, AMDAR processing is implemented in the commit "add processing of AMDAR messages" in the branch "unstable", and I think it is complete. This code will go into the release and the snapshot can be used like a release.

If this does not help you please say so, I'll make a release with the current state.

Hi,
I wanted to carefully ask what the chances are that this feature will be available beginning of next year. It would be great if we could use your great tool for all our decoding and don't need something special just for AMDARS.

Thanks Thomas for putting this on the list.

The metars I am getting from our system are formatted like below. I already wrote a few lines of python code to reformat it to be accepted by your code basically putting all information in one line that belongs together. You won't need to worry about this.
