1.5.2_1084 stupip-ftp problem

Hi all,
I update my Freecom 35 with firmware MG35_1.5.2_1084-xa1-XX_Eng_Devel and it looks great!

However ftp is useless because after first ls command successful, output is unreadble (see attached log).

I am not smart with ftp, so I don't know if it is a matter of some client settings or a real bug.

I just loaded the software 1.5.2.3_a8 on my Mediaplayer-45. I can't write to disc with ftp.
Is there something I do wrong?

Some MP3 files don't show on the file list

If the filename contains some foreign characters (I'm from Portugal, we use some special characters in our language) the file doesn't show in the list, so it cannot be played. I've made some tests and noticed that for example if the filename contains the characters 'á' or 'é' that file doesn't appear on the list. If the file contains 'ã' or 'õ' it appears on the list but with incorrect characters. I've also verified that the filenames are encoded using utf8.

Some MP3 file don't play with A8 version

After changing the firmware from the original Freecom Mediaplayer 35 to the A8 version, some of the mp3 files don't play anymore (they play with the original firmware version). I'm attaching one file that don't play now but play with the original version. I tried to cut a piece of this file using mp3splt, but the resulting file play well even with A8 version, it seems that some header rewriting done by mp3splt is sufficient to make it work with A8 version (mp3splt does not re-encode the file, only cut and adjust the header accordingly I suppose, so the only difference shall be in the header)

Hello, yesterday I installed your released firmwar and had a lot of trouble with ftp-server. Something seems to be wrong! After one loggin I tried a second and after that nothing works.....

I used IE to connect to ftp.

Is it possible to make any changes? How could I set a password?

sash's tar has issues when the target filename is too long. The cut-off seems to be at 100 chars. See the last lines:
