Hi, I have used MP3val to "fix" files that were originally taken os photos but are somehow MP3 files that would not open. MP3val has "fixed" them and saved them as .bak files which I cannot open. What software will open them? Desperate to help my son who needs them urgently

Hello...we are trying to use mp3val to find mp3 files of ours that suffer from the following error 'Wrong number of MPEG frames specified in VBRI header'.

My question is this:

Do we need the entire mp3 file to uncover such an error in an mp3 file...or could we for example download the first 'n' bytes of an mp3 file and run mp3val against it instead. I am trying to save bandwidth costs by not downloading the entire file before we check them.

Hi. I'm using this great little program portably on a thumb drive on XP systems. Where would I find the log files generated when using the front end?

The cmd line version works fine but when trying to use the frontend it just seems to hang.

Hi,

when running from the command line the program works just fine.
The frontend shows up, i can add files but they seemingly don´t get processed.
When I start processing nothing seems to happen, when i restart processing i get a message "Processing thread is still active".
Once i abort processing i can restart it but nothing happens.
Do I have to change any settings?
I really appreciate your help

Scan doesn't work

I downloaded the mp3val-0.1.8_with_frontend-0.1.1-bin-win32.zip binaries and extracted the archive. I can load the front end, but the scan doesn't work. I can use the command line exe and it scans and fixes fine, but the front end doesn't work for me.
