TCP/IP support is great but probably the reason why
MultiSync isn't a greatly used program is because we
have to establish TCP/IP.

Phones will never have decent support with this
approach. This is no due to technicalities but what
happens OFF the computer screens.

Phone companies will not be encouraging TCP/IP if they
possibly can because they'd rather you spent 50p each
time you want to sync your phone.

This means that support by /dev/rfcomm & (in an ideal
world) /proc/usb.../ is the beginning.

However, MultiSync is TCP/IP based. There's surely a
big need for Bluetooth sync support?

WebDAV/iCalendar-support

Support for iCalendars over webDAV would be a great
plugin, which I think would be fairly simple to implement.

It's practically the same plugin as evolution as far as
I can see, except the iCalendar file is read over WebDAV.

Support for this would make it possible to synchronize
with MacOS/X iCal, Mozilla Sunbird, and more with
access to a WebDAV-enabled webserver

Finding something that makes me capable of
synchronizing between a web calendar, my iPaq and a
decent stand-alone calendar (preferably Evolution) is
proving difficult, but this would take me a long step
of the way...

support for Sony Ericsson K750i

requesting Support for the popular Sony Ericsson K750i Phone within the
Bluetooth Plugin.

Actually with Version 0.82. I can only Sync the Calendar once, changes
made to the date's after syncing in Evolution or the Cell phone are not
recognized and not be synced.

Contacts and Phonebook will not be synced from Evolution to the Phone.

Syncing from the Phone to Evolution doesnt work at all.

I installed multisync after becoming frustrated at my
inability to set up wince/rsync
(http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/wince/rsync.html). But,
there isn't a facility to sync my (wince) pda
file-system with my linux machine. I wounder if
packaging wince/rsync as a plugin for multisync might
be possible - obviously not for me, but I'd happily
document and write a howto if someone did:-) Perhaps
even easier for opie/zaurus? And then there's palm,
syncml...

LDAP: syncing groups/categorys of contacts (like a filter)

if i have all my contacts on the LDAP server, i wont
sync all of them to my mobile device, but only a
selected group of people. for this purpose i have the
"category" attributes in LDAP. something like a
"filter-statement"-field would be nice... something
that would be added to the search-phrase of the
ldap-statement?

It be great if multisync could sync with SQL databases
as Mysql or Postgresql, that way we could reuse data
from popular contact management tools like phpgroupware
or similar.

Great Job, I'm currently using it to sync 2 remote
evolution + 1 zaurus sl-550 with openzaurus and opie soft.
