Is there a posted procedure for un-installing this
client? If yes, where is it posted. If not, Can I get
assistance in un-installing?

Hi there thks for a wonderful site..
i have installed novel client for linux..eg
login root and installed the programm and it works it put it in
internet/novelclient.. no problem...
but when i login as a normal user.. i do not see the novel client and
i have no ideal how to give the normal users rights...
can u pls help here...

setup.sh not working on Debian

I have Debian sarge on my laptop (debian testing). I've
tried to install .86 and .90-3 with no success.

I log in as root and sh setup.sh.

I get shown the GPL - press enter and I get prompted to
select my distro.

I put an x using the spacebar into the Debian 3.0 spot [
the ( ) to the left] and press enter. I just get that same
screen back. I can just barely see in the bottom left
corner as the screen flashes, the words Debian 3.0
selected.

I've tried to manually run the setup-Debian.sh script. It
seems to run, but the program doesn't seem to actually
install. No idea why. I don't get anything in GNome and
running novelclient tells me that nothing exists by that
name. The run box in gnome doesn't list it as an
application.

Any ideas?

volumes on clusters

I am using Suse 9 professional with Ximian desktop and
beta client. Using the client I can log in to a novel
network and the volumes are mounted in my selected
mount point. However although I can browse the tree to
see the servers that are part of the cluster I can't see
the volumes in the cluster and the clustered volumes do
not mount.
I am using IP as the protocol
This did occur with the beta 0.86 and was hoping that
the new alpha 09 might cure this but sadly no. Any
pointers please on how I might fix this.

Hello,

When I attempt to auto-configure the novel client, I get
the error "received no data". I cannot browse the tree
either. I am running on an IP network using SUSE
Desktop 9.0 ..

Mounting specific areas of a volume

I can't see how to mount a portion of a volume. Is the
NovelClient only capable of mounting the whole server?

I'd like to see (my wish list):
Mount specific volume only.
Mount specific directory on a volume only.

Could not save. Not enough free space?

The new client works very well, its much faster.....

When i browse a mounted volume though I can delete
files, change files..... but I cannot create new files.

I tried to do a Copy/Paste from my redhat 8.0 to a
mounted novell drive.

I always get the error => could not paste...=> not
enough free space on disk.

But there is plenty of free space.....

What could be the problem here????

ncpmount invalid argument

I successfully installed the client and the ncffs and
ipxutils software. I enter user name, password, tree,
context and mount point. I get an error message as
follows: "Error: could not mount server, ncpmount:
invalid argument in mount (2)" under setting the ip
and nds are checked and have not entered anything in
the blanks on the right side. I have also placed and
entry int the /etc/hosts file with the ip address and
host name of the server.

I have also tried to use the ncpmount command at the
command line and use the -S -U and -V options and get a
message: "Server not found (0x8847) in ncp_open". when
I use slist I get the same message.

I am using redhat 8.0

Can you help?

Cannot execute binary file

Used the self installing file on Redhat 8. Everything
sorta works execpt when I try and log in. It gives me
this error: "Error. Could not mount server.
/tmp/sh.145: line 1: /usr/bin/npcmount: cannot execute
binary file."

I'm stumped.
